Dack's is Back !

Fine Shoes For Men Since 1834

February 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Dack’s, the most prestigious and recognized Canadian luxury footwear brand, is back! Matthew Dack, Canada’s premier online shoe retailer, is re-launching the iconic men’s shoe brand that went off the market in December 2009, after 175 years, when Dack’s Shoes Limited filed for bankruptcy.

Dack shoes are now available exclusively online from Matthew Dack’s web store at www.matthewdack.com. "We acquired exclusive rights to the Dack’s brand and are continuing the tradition of providing the finest quality men’s shoes which has made Dack’s famous across Canada", said Marc Labrosse, CEO of Matthew Dack Footwear Ltd. "We updated the brand and logo, renewed the manufacturing agreement with Dack’s UK partner, and our strategy is now to focus on e-tailing to sell our fine shoes everywhere", continued Mr. Labrosse.

Created by Matthew Dack in 1834, the year the city of Toronto was incorporated, Dack shoes have become a renowned symbol of tradition in luxury handcrafted footwear, characterized by classic style and sophisticated elegance. Made in Canada until 1999, Dack shoes are now handcrafted in England exclusively for our company as they were until 2009. Handcrafting a pair of Dack shoes takes close to eight weeks, each pair passing through 200 separate processes from the careful selection and cutting of the leather, to the final polishing and packing.

Matthew Dack’s online store offers the complete line of Dack shoes. From the signature Dufferin brogue, to the 60s inspired Morgan loafer and the classic Caine oxford. In all, more than 25 classic and contemporary Dack styles are currently available.

Shoe Width

Our standard shoe width is an F fitting. However, in order to accommodate variations in foot size, alternative width fittings are available in certain styles.

Narrow Fit = D width (USA E Fit)

Standard or Average Fit = F width (USA EE Fit)

Wide Fit = G width (USA EEE Fit)

Extra Wide Fit = H width (USA EEEE Fit)

As a shoe increases in size, the length and width both increase. A size 10F shoe is therefore one size bigger and one size wider than a size 9F shoe. A size 9G shoe is a size wider than a size 9F - in other words the width of the shoe would roughly correspond to a size 10F.

In the table below, the 11D, the 10F, the 9G and 8H would all be roughly the same width.

9 Z Y X
8 Z Y X
